The Roshelle Brago Boakye Foundation (ROBBFOUNDATION) implemented a Breakfast Support Initiative for Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) students with special needs within the Dansoman enclave and surrounding communities. The 2026 BECE in Ghana started on Monday, 4 May 2026, and ended on Monday, 11 May 2026. The initiative was designed to support students with disabilities and special educational needs during their examination period by providing breakfast from Monday to Friday throughout the examination period.

The program aimed to improve concentration, reduce hunger during examinations, and encourage inclusive educational support for vulnerable students preparing for their BECE examinations.

Impact of the Initiative

The Breakfast Initiative had a positive and meaningful impact on students with special educational needs during the examination period. By providing breakfast before examinations, the initiative addressed some of the practical and emotional barriers that can affect students' ability to participate effectively in examinations.

Providing breakfast helped ensure that students did not begin their examinations on an empty stomach. Adequate nourishment can support students' energy levels, alertness, and ability to remain focused during examination sessions. For students with special educational needs, who may require additional support to sustain attention and participate comfortably, the provision of breakfast created a more supportive examination environment.
