ROBBFOUNDATION commemorated World Down Syndrome Day 2026 on Saturday, 21st March 2026 at West Hills Mall, Accra, under the theme “Improving Inclusive Education in Ghana.”

The event was organized as an awareness, advocacy, education, and stakeholder engagement programme aimed at promoting the rights, dignity, abilities, and inclusion of persons with Down syndrome and other persons with disabilities.

The programme brought together persons with disabilities, children and young people, parents and caregivers, educators, health professionals, disability advocates, civil society organizations, government representatives, private-sector stakeholders, community members, and members of the general public.

The event programme included guest arrival and registration, a red-carpet experience, photography and media engagement, an opening ceremony, poetry recital, stakeholder remarks, dance and choreography performances, a panel discussion on inclusive education, an inclusive fashion show, reproductive health education and demonstration, special performances, media engagement, recognition of advocates, schools and partners, and the closing ceremony.

A major component of the programme was the panel discussion on “Promoting Inclusive Education in Ghana,” which provided a platform for dialogue among education, social welfare, disability, advocacy, and civil society stakeholders.

The event also incorporated an inclusive fashion show featuring students and young adults with intellectual disabilities, as well as reproductive health education facilitated by the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana.

ROBBFOUNDATION identified a number of institutions and organizations as prospective partners for strengthening future activities and expanding the organization's work in disability inclusion, inclusive education, health, rehabilitation, advocacy, and community empowerment.

Overall, the event served as an important platform for increasing awareness, encouraging positive attitudes toward persons with Down syndrome, promoting inclusive education, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and positioning ROBBFOUNDATION for broader collaboration.
