Launch of the 16 Inter-regional Mental Health awareness tour Reaffirms Stakeholder Commitment to Mental Health and Disability Inclusion


The Launch of the 16 interegional Mental Health awareness Tour, organized by Heart for Disabled Foundation in collaboration with RobbFoundation, was successfully held in Accra, bringing together high-level stakeholders to champion mental health and disability advocacy.

The event was graced by the Chief Director of the Ministry of Health, representatives from the Mental Health Authority, officials from the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, and several other key partners. Participants used the platform to highlight the urgent need for stronger mental health systems, increased awareness, and greater investment in community-level interventions.

In their remarks, stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to:

Prioritizing mental health in Ghana’s health agenda.

Strengthening collaboration among government, civil society, and service providers.

Advancing inclusive policies that protect the rights of persons with mental health conditions and disabilities.

Expanding access to psychosocial support services.


Speaking at the event, representatives of Heart for Disabled Foundation and RobbFoundation emphasized that the tour is not only about awareness but also about action. “This tour demonstrates that when we stand together, we can break barriers, reduce stigma, and create a more inclusive society where persons with mental health conditions and disabilities live with dignity,” they stated.

The success of this 16 inter- regional tour reaffirms Ghana’s commitment to global mental health advocacy and sets the tone for continued collaboration among stakeholders. Both organizations expressed gratitude to all partners and pledged to sustain momentum in future tours and initiatives.
