BASIC EDUCATION CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION FOR PERSONS WITH DOWN SYNDROME AND OTHER INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES

ROBBFOUNDATION is proud to announce the successful completion of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) by 11 extraordinary students with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities. This milestone reflects a significant victory for inclusive education and affirms our commitment to advocating for the rights, inclusion, and empowerment of persons with intellectual disabilities in Ghana.

Over the past year, ROBBFOUNDATION has worked closely with families, schools, and the Ghana Education Service (GES) to prepare a group of neurodivergent learners to participate in the BECE. Through personalized coaching, therapy support, and community sensitization, we ensured that these students received the academic, emotional, and social support needed to reach this stage.

This achievement would not have been possible without the tireless support of key stakeholders: Special Education Coordinator – GES:
We express our heartfelt gratitude to the Special Education Coordinator at the Ghana Education Service,Ablekuma west ( Mad. Harriet) for their unwavering support, advocacy, and facilitation of inclusive learning environments throughout the academic year. Your leadership continues to inspire institutional change.

Ghana Education Service (GES):
We thank the Ghana Education Service for ensuring accommodations and inclusive policies that allowed these students to sit for the national examination alongside their peers. Your commitment to educational equity is deeply appreciated.

Parents and Teachers:
Your resilience and dedication were vital in this journey. We applaud your courage and partnership.

School : NATBEK PREPARATORY SCHOOL: Special thank you for promoting inclusion and providing needed education for persons with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities in the Ablekuma wast Municipal

The completion of the BECE by our 11 learners is not just a celebration of academic success—it is a loud and clear message that disability is not inability.
